Omega 3, Antioxidants, Vitamin D, Probiotics

It seems like taking Omega 3's is a great way to prevent autoimmune diseases and help the symptoms if you get them. Also antioxidants are essential to fight the free radicals that attack your bodies cells. That is why Melaleuca's OligoFructose Complex is so important because it helps to keep the minerals from crystalizing in the neutral pH (7)of the small intestine and lets more minerals get absorbed and won't destroy the antioxidants in the process like most supplements do. It is also very important to get Vitamin D to help fight Autoimmune diseases. Probiotics or "good" bacteria are also important to keep the flora of the gut healthy. All of these come in the Vitality 6 Vitamin Supplements packages. Excellent! Can't wait for my bloodwork to see if it helped.

Labor Day Again

Wow! Time is flying by! Another summer is over, the neighborhood pool is closed, and it is time to get back to routine. I do find that summer tends to make me a bit lazier and eat a bit unhealthier options at times. Also I sit by the pool instead of going for a workout. Not a good combination. Oh well! I'm reading a book called the Autoimmune Epidemic. I can't believe how it supports mt thoughts from my last blog about Hypothyroid Disease (which is an autoimmune disease). Yikes! I think I am right about this chemical stuff!

Hypothyroid

This auto immune disease is so prevalent! Why? So many patients are taking Synthroid the drug that is the standard answer for this problem by the doctors. Last winter I was diagnosed with potential hypothyroid. I have increased thyroid peroxidase antibodies. My original doctor wanted to put me on Synthroid immediately and I refused until I get more information. I went for a second opinion and that doctor concurred that I should be on Synthroid but recommended I see an endocrinologist. So here we are 8 months later and I will be seeing an endocrinologist next week about this. It takes a long time to get an appointment with these guys. In the mean time I have been reading and investigating a lot about Hypothyroid since both doctors told me that don't know why you get it. I can't help to think it is environmental. That was my deduction. It doesn't run in my family, and I've never had radiation treatment for thyroid. I am not iodine deficient. So what's left!! Chemicals. Could it be a workplace hazard? Radiation and harsh chemicals used to disinfect the room after each patient. Mercury in the air from old amalgam being removed. I don't know but I'd like to find out why there is such a prevalence of hypothyroid. God made us perfectly and our bodies are amazing healers. I have done everything I can in the last 8 months to try natural remedies that I had read about. I will see if anything worked when I get my bloodwork redone. I came to one determination. My body is not deficient in SYNTHROID! I want to avoid it like the plague!

Blood Pressure Med causes Cough

In the past few weeks I have heard of several people that have had a cough that was linked to them taking Beta-Blockers for High Blood Pressure. I don't know if this is documented as a side effect but I definitely know of a few instances that it has happened with patients of mine recently. Another lovely drug side effect!

Statin Drug Side Effect

My original excitement about blogging got curbed by life!!!! Yikes!! I'm going to give this my effort more now. I have so much to share from my experiences. Like for instance... The dangers of prescription meds are astounding. Today I saw two patients that had muscle soreness and arthritis as a side effect of Lipitor(a statin drug that lowers cholesterol). So many people are taking Statins and having these terrible side effects. The sadder part is that the patients asked the doctors about this side effect and they denied that the drug would do that. The doctors are in cahoots with the pharmaceutical companies. Well it's funny (not ha ha funny) that both the patients noticed an improvement in their muscle soreness when they went off the drug. I think the proof is in the pudding. I hear these kinds of stories all the time. The truth is there is a natural product called Phytomega that is guaranteed to lower cholesterol safely and effectively. It is a patented product made by Melaleuca. It combines Omega-3's and Phytosterols which are excellent at lowering cholesterol. Many of the customers have seen these results in their own bloodwork.
